Inspiration for the Suzie Wong bed comes from romantic comedy films in the fifties and, even further back, sumptuous alcoves from the 1700s. Roberto Lazzeroni gives us a light, feminine, almost twee version. The reference model is the classic boat bed, streamlined in a very modern makeover. It stands clear of the floor, lightly balanced on stiletto-heel tapered feet, covered in leather with brass caps. Even more sophisticated is the version with the headboard wrapped in quilted leather, embroidered with refined geometric stitching, a subtle reminder of the details typical of tailored and leather goods. The headboard frame is in solid beech wood e birch plywood, padded with polyurethane foam. The two shaped sides are in moulded polyurethane foam. Side panels in tulipier wood, with light polyurethane foam padding. Footboard in poplar multilayer the two corners in moulded polyurethane foam. Suzie Wong is upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather. The Suzie Wong Extra bed sees the addition of new elements to be mixed and matched to suit personal taste and discovers a whole series of expressive solutions.
